Our mission has always been to provide our customers with educational materials and service that support and enhance educational priorities. In doing so, we respect and promote the diversity that exists in our nation and within the communities where we work. We appreciate and focus on the divergent learning styles of all learners, our vision having always been to offer educational materials of the highest quality and on the cutting edge of research.

At Attanasio & Associates, we make it our priority to provide the most comprehensive, diverse, standards-based materials available. Our extensive offerings include trade books, textbooks, multi-media software for English language learners and reference materials for educators. We are best known for our classroom libraries, which are standard-based and contain wonderful multicultural literature and content in a variety of genres. These were compiled by staff developers in the respective curricula areas. Additionally, we provide professional services of the highest quality and on the cutting edge of school reform.

ConnieConnie Attanasio
Connie Jeanne Attanasio is a true native New Yorker. She was born in NYC, only daughter of second-generation immigrant parents. She was raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, attended the neighborhood public schools and graduated from Julia Richman High School. Her informal education in the Spanish speaking community, where she was raised, helped her become fluent in Spanish. She completed her Bachelor's degree at City College, a Masters Degree in Administration from Bank Street College of Education and on a fellowship, completed all course work for a doctorate at California State University.

Having been educated in the City Public Schools, Connie decided at an early age that her true calling was to return to her community and teach the next generation of children. She became a teacher at PS 165 in Manhattan. Throughout her teaching career, she taught all grades in elementary school. She went on to become the Assistant Director of the Bilingual - Bicultural Mini School in East Harlem.

Connie then decided to shift her leadership talents to the business world and began working with various publishing companies, climbing the corporate ladder to become the National Marketing and Sales Manager of the English Language, teaching Department at Oxford University Press.

Fifteen years ago, seeing the void in the field of quality, standards based, multicultural materials and professional development for schools, Connie embarked on a journey. She envisioned a company that would become a trusted name of education. That journey, from her dining room table to the space Attanasio and Associated now leases has taken 16 years. Connie sums it up this way, "this journey, full of joy and sadness is my passion. I am humbled and proud to serve the educators and children of this great Country".

MariaMaria Olsen
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the face that goes with a voice many of you already know. Maria Olsen has been with Attanasio & Associates for the last four years as Special Projects Coordinator. You may have already worked with her customizing libraries, reviewing existing classroom libraries or discussing literacy at vendor fairs. A&A is proud to announce that, among the many hats that Maria wears, she is adding her sales hat, presenting Attanasio classroom libraries.
