Having been educated in the City Public Schools, Connie decided at an early age that her true calling was to return to her community and teach the next generation of children. She became a teacher at PS 165 in Manhattan. Throughout her teaching career, she taught all grades in elementary school. She went on to become the Assistant Director of the Bilingual - Bicultural Mini School in East Harlem. Connie then decided to shift her leadership talents to the business world and began working with various publishing companies, climbing the corporate ladder to become the National Marketing and Sales Manager of the English Language, teaching Department at Oxford University Press. Fifteen years ago, seeing the void in the field of quality, standards based, multicultural materials and professional development for schools, Connie embarked on a journey. She envisioned a company that would become a trusted name of education. That journey, from her dining room table to the space Attanasio and Associated now leases has taken 16 years. Connie sums it up this way, "this journey, full of joy and sadness is my passion. I am humbled and proud to serve the educators and children of this great Country".
